Sensitivity of walleye (Sander vitreus) and fathead minnow (Pimephales promelas) early-life stages to naphthenic acid fraction components extracted from fresh oil sands process-affected waters

This study aimed to evaluate the toxicity of naphthenic acid fraction components (NAFC) from fresh oil sands affected-water (OSPW) on the embryo-larval stage of the fathead minnow (Pimephales promelas) and the walleye (Sander vitreus). The assessed endpoints were hatch success, growth, deformities, and survival.
