Report on food inspection activities

The results of the food inspection of this complex indicate the important work carried out by the City on the territory of the agglomeration of Montreal under the powers delegated to it from the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ).

The food inspection team includes nearly forty specialists. Their mission is to ensure consumer protection by ensuring the safety and quality of foods prepared, served and sold in food establishments in the restaurant, retail, processing, distribution and storage sectors. To do this, this team:

  • Inspects, based on health risks, foods and activities related to the preparation, processing, preservation and handling of food;

  • Advises food store operators, in order to promote good practices ensuring the safety of the food consumed;

  • Carries out analyses and expertise relating to the quality and safety of food.

More information on food inspection activities carried out by the City is available on its [portal] (https://montreal.ca/sujets/inspection-des-aliments).
