Public Services and Procurement Canada, in its role as Receiver General for Canada, issues payments on behalf of all federal departments, agencies and some Crown corporations. This Government of Canada Payment Volumes Dataset provides the volume of Receiver General payments grouped: by payment type (domestic direct deposit, domestic cheque, foreign direct deposit or foreign cheque); by product code used by the requisitioning department; and, by monthly issuance period.
This dataset contains transactions from April 2011 to March 2018. In June 2018, Public Services and Procurement Canada published a more comprehensive dataset entitled: Government of Canada - Domestic Payments, which can be found at the following URL: https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/e19d7468-6f95-475a-bcfc-4141cad76268. This new dataset includes both payment volumes and values.
As a result, the Government of Canada Payment Volumes dataset is no longer required and will not be updated further.
