Food Microbiology - Targeted Surveys - Final Report - Bacterial Pathogens and Indicators in Fresh Stone Fruits - April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2020

​A targeted survey analysed 2947 samples of fresh whole stone fruits for the presence of E. coli O157, Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes and generic E. coli. Additionally, of the 2947 samples, 1001 were tested for Shigella. Salmonella, E. coli O157 and Shigella were not found in any of the samples tested. Listeria monocytogenes was found in 34 samples and elevated levels of generic E. coli were found in 2 samples. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency conducted appropriate follow-up activities. No product recalls were required.
