Department of Justice Program Evaluation

Program Evaluation in the Department of Justice has two primary roles: carrying out objective, credible and useful evaluation (both formative and summative) of the Department's policies, programs, operations and services; and providing advice and assistance to managers on results-based management and reporting on results achieved.

Preparation and publishing of Program Evaluation reports are consistent with the Treasury Board Policy on Results which encourages government organisations to make reports accessible to the public with minimal formality.

Available to the public are the Triennial Plan, Policies, and Program Evaluation summaries from 2004 onward. However, users should note that Program Evaluations from 2004-2005 are not maintained by Justice Canada and are handled by the Government of Canada Web Archive administered by Library and Archives Canada (LAC).

The public is welcome to contact the Department of Justice at any time to make this a better information source.
