Holders of a permit for the wholesale sale of pesticides (category A) must report, no later than January 31 of each year, certain information relating to the sales they made during the previous year (Regulation respecting permits and certificates for the sale and use of pesticides, section 54).
Wholesaling is defined as selling for the purpose of resale, i.e. the customer does not use the pesticide, but resells it to a wholesaler or retail vendor. A category A permit is issued to a company that sells or offers the wholesale sale of pesticides in classes 1 to 5.
The file indicates the sector of use of the active ingredient, its type of use, its name and code, the name and code of the chemical group to which it belongs, and the quantity sold during the year in question.
