Dall's Sheep Survey Count - Kluane

Kluane National Park and Reserve has one of the largest concentrations of Dall’s sheep in the world. Dall's Sheep are highly valued by local First Nations and are also being monitored in neighbouring jurisdictions. Aerial survey counts of Dall's sheep have been monitored in four subpopulations since 1977. Rams, nursery (ewes and immature rams) and young of year (lambs) are recorded. Helicopters are used to fly the surveys every 1-3 years in June.
