Pre-approved Routine Impact Assessments

Parks Canada’s Preapproved Routine Impact Assessments (PRIA) are approved environmental management and mitigation measures for defined classes of routine, repetitive projects or activities with well understood and predictable effects. They are intended to maximize efficiency, consistency and quality of mitigations for recurring, standard projects. PRIAs are developed for application nationally and locally. The number of PRIAs and the content of PRIAs is regularly updated. We welcome your comments on these documents at any time, as we are constantly seeking to improve them. If you are planning work in a specific field unit speak to a local impact assessment specialist to determine impact assessment requirements for the proposed project.
