Ransomware Threat Outlook 2025-2027

This assessment is an update to the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security's (Cyber Centre) Baseline cyber threat assessment: Cyber crime, published in 2023. It is intended to provide an update on the ransomware threat to Canada and to inform Canadian organizations about the early history of ransomware, emerging and projected trends, and ransomware’s impact on Canada and Canadian organizations.
