Manitouwadge; Line 1; 2D seismic reflection

The Manitouwadge greenstone belt in the Archean Superior Province of Northern Ontario is a highly deformed and metamorphosed remnant of supracrustal rocks. A seismic program, consisting of three intersecting 2-D, high-resolution reflection profiles, successfully imaged several important horizons. This demonstrates that the use of seismic reflection technology can be a significant aid in mineral exploration.
