Type of Complaint

The Office of the Ombudsman for the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces (DND/CAF) investigates complaints and serves as a neutral third party on matters related to the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces. The office is a direct source of information, referral, and education for the men and women of the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces.

The “Type of Complaint” dataset lists the various types of complaints that are received by the Office of the Ombudsman, DND/CAF. Over the years, some types have become subtypes. They are identified with an asterisk (*). There are also types that are no longer in use, which are identified with a caret (^).
