List of high-risk petroleum equipment permits
Petroleum products are the following liquid mixtures of hydrocarbons: automotive gasoline, oxygenated automotive gasoline containing ethanol (E1-E10), ethanol fuel for cars (E50-E85), diesel fuel, diesel fuel containing biodiesel, diesel fuel containing biodiesel, aviation fuel, and heating oil.
Some equipment is subject to closer surveillance both during installation and during operation: these are high-risk petroleum equipment. They are classified in this category based on four risk factors:
-
Their storage capacity.
-
The fact that they are above ground or underground.
-
Their use.
-
The petroleum product they contain (Class 1 fuel, Class 2 fuel, heating oil).
To use high-risk petroleum equipment, you must have a user permit issued by the Régie du Bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) and display it in public view.
This permit is valid for two years and must be renewed after this period.
