Receiver General Accounting Transactions

The Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada, in its role as Receiver General for Canada, is responsible for the management and safeguarding of all federal government money. Two important elements of the Receiver General’s functions are to provide a centralized banking service across government departments and also to maintain a detailed accounting of financial information. Accounting transactions can be created by several Treasury Systems automatically and can also be entered manually. Accounting transactions are posted to the Central Accounting and Reporting Systems directorate where the accounting ledgers for the federal government are maintained. This dataset entitled “Receiver General Accounting Transactions” provides details of both automated and manually adjusted accounting entries. The data represents the transactions as received and that further validation is performed before they are sent to the Receiver General – General Ledger. As such, erroneous data is possible.

Updates will be posted quarterly.
