It is forbidden to sell to consumers certain pesticides intended for the maintenance of green spaces or indoor plants or for pest management purposes inside residential buildings (Pesticide Management Code, art. 25). In addition, there is a ban on the sale of household pesticides that contain permethrin or pyrethrins intended for the maintenance of green spaces or indoor plants.
It is also prohibited to sell them to certain licensed businesses (Regulation on Permits and Certificates for the Sale and Use of Pesticides, section 44) and to apply them (Pesticide Management Code, sections 31, 48.1, 48.1, 48.2 and 68). These pesticides contain any of the active ingredients listed in Annex I, III, or IV of the Code.
These lists, made available for the purposes of applying these requirements, are administrative in nature and have no official value. They indicate the type of product, its registration number under the Pest Control Products Act, its trade name, the prohibited active ingredient (s) it contains, and the class to which it belongs under the Regulations Respecting Permits and Certificates for the Sale and Use of Pesticides.
