OD0035 Summary Of PEI ALUS Client Performance from 2011

The Alternative Land Use Services ALUS2 program is a voluntary program for PEI landowners. This program has four purposes, to:Reduce soil erosion and siltation of watercourses and wetlandsImprove water qualityImprove and increase wildlife habitatReduce the impacts of climate changeEach fall, a number of ALUS projects across the province are audited for performance. Projects selected for audit are identified in a random audit system. Clients are notified of the performance audit and ALUS projects are inspected to ensure they comply with the client's ALUS Agreement. This involves visual inspections or the project area may need to be measured to ensure the correct project acreage. The results of the audit are recorded and communicated to the ALUS client so they are aware of their performance, and if necessary, corrective action taken to address any performance issues.
