This treaty establishes a framework between Canada and the Republic of Panama to promote and protect bilateral investments. It sets out commitments related to fair and equitable treatment, safeguards against expropriation, dispute‑settlement mechanisms, and provisions outlined in the accompanying annex. Concluded in 1998, the agreement aims to encourage stable, transparent, and secure investment conditions between both countries.
