This collection includes Canada’s international agreements related to the global patent system and cooperation on intellectual property administration. The resources comprise the Patent Cooperation Treaty and a subsequent agreement outlining the role of the Canadian Commissioner of Patents as an International Searching Authority and International Preliminary Examining Authority under the treaty. Together, they demonstrate Canada’s participation in harmonized patent procedures and support for an efficient, internationally coordinated system for patent applications.
