Evaluates the effects of silvicultural activities (tending, harvest intensity) and timing (pre, during and post-harvest) on forest productivity and regeneration of beech and other commercially and ecologically important tree species in managed Great Lakes-St. Lawrence forests. This data helps: * determine the effectiveness of various silvicultural treatments on maintaining forest productivity * reduce long-term consequences of beech bark disease in affected forests in Ontario * inform forest management policy, guides and plans Variables in dataset: * overstory trees—species, diameter at breast height, health code, presence/absence of beech scale and beech bark disease * large regeneration—species, diameter at breast height * medium regeneration—number by species * small regeneration—number by species and competition code * carpet regeneration—number by species
