Review of the Directory of protected natural environments that contribute to biodiversity

The Plan of Land Use and Development of the Agglomération de Montréal indicates a target aimed at increasing the protected land area to 10%. This objective is reiterated in the 2020-2030 Climate Plan and the Nature and Sports Plan as part of the Montréal 2030 strategic plan. In 2023, the agglomeration council approved the update of the framework of the Directory, which has since been named Directory of protected natural environments that contribute to biodiversity in the Montréal agglomeration ([guidelines] (https://portail-m4s.s3.montreal.ca/pdf/lignesdirectricesrepertoiremilieuxnaturels_2022_2.pdf)). The Service des Grands Parcs, Mont-Royal et des Sports submits annually to the Conseil d'agglomération de Montréal a report showing the increase in the areas of natural terrestrial environments that are protected and contribute to the biodiversity of the Montréal agglomeration.
