This working level advisory sub-committee is focused exclusively on the ethical review process within the Government of Canada’s (GC) Human Resources (HR) and Pay modernization project, aligning with GC policies, standards, and best practices. It evaluates proposed AI initiatives, identifies potential ethical considerations and suggests improvements.
Members are nominated by their departmental executive on the OERB and must possess at least two of the following areas of expertise: knowledge of departmental or program-level operations related to AI, data, or digital services; foundational understanding of responsible AI or automation policy; and foundational understanding of values and ethics, human rights, accessibility, and Gender-Based Analysis (GBA) Plus analysis.
The sub-committee meets as required in a virtual format.
